Joyvancia gaines

Secretary

Joyvancia Gaines graduated from The University of Florida in 2007 with a degree in Telecommunication. After graduation, she worked on the production team at WSVN in Miami. She eventually became a web writer for wsvn.com. In 2012, after four years with the news station, she changed careers and became a middle school mathematics teacher, first with Broward County Public Schools and now with Florida Virtual School. Joyvancia served on the board of ABA South Florida beginning in 2017, as Secretary, President-Elect and then as President. Now, she is the Immediate Past President of the South Florida Chapter while she is serving her first year as Secretary for the National ABA.

Joyvancia loves the Gator Nation and is looking forward to engaging with even more UF alumni and students, and with continuing to reach and impact the next generation of Black Gators.
